Mr Sunil Kheru - The Chairperson of the Asset Management Forum of Southern Africa (AMF-SA), an organization dedicated to advancing the asset management industry across the region.
With a distinguished career spanning over 32 years of experience in the higher education sector, I am currently working as the Assets Manager in the Finance Department at Durban University of Technology. As one of the founding members of the Forum, I foster knowledge sharing with ongoing engagement across the higher education sector with a passion for the use of technology.
My career has encompassed key finance areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement processes aligned with tendering requirements. This extensive experience has equipped me with an understanding of financial governance and compliance. In addition to their role at AMF-SA, I have served on the executive committee of Tertiary Risk Insurance South Africa (TERISA), which administers the Universities insurance, demonstrating a commitment to leadership and excellence within Higher Education.
Academically, I hold a Master’s Degree in Cost and Management Accounting from Durban University of Technology, supported by a Bachelor of Technology and National Diploma in the same field from ML Sultan Technikon. I have also attained professional certificates in Project Management, Effective Business Writing Skills, and Leadership.
Under my passionate leadership, AMF-SA continues to play a crucial role in shaping the future of asset management in Southern Africa, fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainable investment practices.
